Piezo Switches, Anodized Aluminum Material, Alu Natural Color, Ideal for use in hostile environment

Schurter's vandal-proof and explosion-proof PSE switch series uses a switching element in which a piezo disk is used as a sensor to transform mechanical force into an electrical voltage. Unlike mechanical switching, piezo switches are fully electronic and do not break down over time. Rated Lifetime: >15-20 million operations. No external power is required. The release of the signal can result by use of any object, conductive or not, on the actuator, i.e. finger, pencil, tool, etc. and will only react once the specified amount of pressure is applied. "EX" version meets ignition protection requirements of EN 50020 for intrinsic safety. It is designed for use in potentially explosive environments (ib IIc T4).The non-mechanical, contact free switching system eliminates the hazard of mechanical ignition. Switches are normally open and are available in anodized aluminum, chromium plated brass and high-grade steel, point or ring illumination. Operating Temperature Range: -25°C to +60°C, except for the "eT" for extreme temperatures -40°C to +85°C. IP Rating: 67. Versions MCS and LDT with electro-mechanical switching for lower cost. Lifetime: MCS — >10 ⁶ operations; LDT — 10 ⁵ operations. Terminals are quick disconnect or pins. Other housings, colors, sizes and functions available. Housings with LED indication only and no switching element also available.
